What is Blood and Bone used for regarding to gardening

Yes, the blood & bone meals r by-products from slaughter houses. Since the Mad Cow scare the products come from pig.

The meals r dual-purpose. The blood is great for added nitrogen, the bone is great for making blossoms grow faster & stronger. And both also r great rodent repellents as rodents do not like the smell of other animals.

I sprinkle my meals directly on the soil around the plants & let the watering do the rest.

The only drawback to bone meal is that my dogs love to lick the remnant bone meal out of the bag. It does them no harm but I also do not want to fertilize them.

It is a by-product from the animal rendering industry used as a fertiliser.
